Ain't No Valley
by Sharon Ewell Foster
Bethany House
Naomi closed her eyes and pictured it all--she was poised, ready to spin
the 'Wheel of Fortune' . . . This was her big chance!
Anthony looks out over his world from a skyscraper in San Francisco’s
fast-paced financial district. But he takes a tumble that leaves him
lost in the valley, his only guide a star-shaped-sunshades-wearing 60s
musician. Meanwhile, Naomi, a Baltimore dentist, feels trapped in her
own success. A spin on the Wheel of Fortune tosses Naomi up on a
California beach—not to the retreat she longs for, but face to face with
strange blue-eyed, blonde-haired Ruthie, a tie-dye wearing reject who
won’t leave Naomi alone.
Inspired by the Book of Ruth and other biblical wedding stories, this
modern-day parable with its outrageous cast of characters will make you
laugh until you cry, then cry until you laugh again.
Best-selling, award-winning author Sharon Ewell Foster invites you to
join Naomi and Anthony as they find themselves entangled in a wedding
party that includes some reluctant sistah-girl bridesmaids.
Get ready to take your seat amid a bus-load of unlikelies from as far
away as Jacks Creek, North Carolina, Washington DC, and even the tiny
kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa.

"Sharon Ewell Foster is a beautiful fresh voice in today’s world of fiction.
Her compelling stories draw us to a place where we somehow feel we belong, a
place we want to visit again and again and again."
--Karen Kingsbury, author of One Tuesday Morning
"Sharon Ewell Foster writes with a fresh understanding of the human heart as
well as a delightful sense of humor. Her stories touch me and teach me and
never fail to satisfy."
--Robin Lee Hatcher, author of The Victory Club
"Sharon Foster's writing just keeps getting better and better! In
Ain't No Valley, her characters practically leap off the page--deeper,
funnier, more heart, more soul than when we met them before in previous
books. I'm breathless!"
--Neta Jackson, author of The Yada Yada Prayer Group
"I undeniably love Sharon Ewell Foster—her words, her characters, her
stories. Foster writes with truth, love, humor and grace so powerful, that
if you haven't already fallen in love, you will after reading Ain't No
Valley! Highly, highly recommended for you and your friends!"
--Marina L. Woods, Editor-In-Chief and Founder, The GOOD GIRL Book Club™
Ain’t No Valley is the
third installment in Foster’s series, which includes
Ain’t No River
and
Ain’t No
Mountain, both of which I enjoyed immensely. It is,
perhaps, the last as she invites characters from each of the previous works
to the wedding of Mary and Moor (Ain’t No Mountain) in sunny California. The
sojourn is one of comedic mishaps and divine providence, loosely based on
Jesus’ parable of the wedding banquet (Matthew 22) and the book of Ruth.
